Job description

Position Overview

Our client based in Wellington is seeking a dedicated Professional Development and Events Advisor to become part of their local team. This role combines the practical aspects of programme delivery with customer engagement and the coordination of various stakeholders, offering a dynamic and interactive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize all facets of both physical and virtual professional development sessions, including logistics coordination, venue and catering arrangements, materials preparation, and technology setup.
  • Serve as the on-site representative during events by greeting attendees, introducing facilitators and speakers, and ensuring the smooth flow of sessions.
  • Maintain communication as the central contact for facilitators, participants, venue managers, and suppliers to guarantee seamless event execution.
  • Offer guidance and assistance to internal and external stakeholders throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Monitor registration rates actively, collaborating with internal teams to meet attendance goals.
  • Handle incoming queries through a shared inbox, manage waitlists and expressions of interest, and coordinate follow-up communications effectively.
  • Ensure the collection of post-event feedback and facilitate continuous improvement through evaluation processes.
  • Support the delivery of high-quality and safe events by cultivating strong relationships with all involved parties.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated background in coordinating events, managing programmes, training administration, or roles involving direct customer interaction and coordination.
  • Exceptional communication skills marked by confidence and composure, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders professionally.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail to manage multiple components and sustain momentum efficiently.
  • Willingness and ability to travel when necessary, complemented by flexible working arrangements when not traveling.
