Role Overview
The Procurement Associate will assist in shaping sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and executing contracts for essential equipment and EPC services across IPX Power's renewable projects. Reporting to the Strategic Procurement lead, this role involves close collaboration with development, engineering, construction, finance, and legal staff to facilitate procurement transactions.
Responsibilities include supplier coordination, overseeing competitive procurement processes, contract execution, and tracking procurement-related financials such as cash flow and contract administration.
Team Description
The Procurement team plays a pivotal role in the development and construction of IPX Power’s renewables portfolio. They handle strategic supplier relationships and large-scale procurement efforts, working alongside Development, Engineering, Construction, Finance, and Legal to optimize sourcing strategies, negotiate agreements, and manage supply chain risks to support project economics and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in sourcing strategy and procurement for EPC contracts and key equipment, including Battery Energy Storage Systems, photovoltaic modules, and GSUs.
- Coordinate competitive procurement activities like RFPs and RFQs and evaluate bids from contractors and suppliers.
- Support negotiation and execution of EPC and equipment supply contracts.
- Maintain and build relationships with strategic suppliers and supply chain partners.
- Conduct market research to identify new vendors and procurement opportunities.
- Collaborate with project teams to refine procurement approaches balancing cost, timelines, and risk.
- Work alongside engineering, development, finance, and legal teams to align procurement efforts with project needs.
- Manage contract administration including amendments, change orders, and post-contract tasks.
- Track procurement cash flow, payment schedules, and related financial commitments.
- Monitor supply chain risks such as tariffs and implement mitigation measures.
- Analyze vendor performance and promote continuous supply chain improvements.
- Provide data and insights to aid project development and investment decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 3 to 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain management, project controls, or project development within infrastructure or renewable energy sectors.
- Familiarity with EPC contracts and equipment supply agreements related to renewable energy or large infrastructure projects.
- Basic knowledge of renewable energy supply chains and contract frameworks.
- Experience in managing procurement processes including issuing RFPs/RFQs and evaluating vendors.
- Ability to analyze commercial contract terms and structures.
- Experience in contract management, tracking obligations, and facilitating change orders.
- Strong financial and quantitative analysis skills, including cash flow tracking and forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate among internal teams and external partners.
- Capability to juggle multiple priorities in a high-paced development setting.
- Competence with Excel, G-Suite, and procurement/project management software tools.
Compensation and Benefits
The competitive total compensation ranges from $125,000 to $140,000 annually, including base salary and bonus.
