Key responsibilities

  • Build and run campaign strategies that help create the right environment for winning opportunities in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.
  • Help ensure the assigned regions contribute to the sector’s order commitments.
  • Monitor market movements on an ongoing basis, including customer needs, budget trends, market size, and competitive activity, and use that insight to shape short- and long-term business plans.
  • Set short- and long-range objectives in alignment with the wider organization and advise senior leadership on status, risks, and required actions for active and potential sales programs.
  • Work closely with regional sales colleagues to identify, develop, and win near-term and long-term international growth opportunities.
  • Lead capture activity for major pursuits.
  • Support go-to-market planning, including selection or renewal of local consultants, dealers, representatives, and teaming partners.
  • Guide the regional sales team through the Common Capture Management Process, including arranging prospect meetings, tracking key pursuits, and making sure gate reviews happen when needed.
  • Serve as the link between the S2 businesses and regional sales teams for business development activities such as trade shows, demonstrations, trials, industry days, and customer visits.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for S2 solutions when meeting customers or presenting at events and demonstrations.
  • Share market and customer insights with product management to support future product improvements.
  • Partner with business and sales teams to build localization strategies for the region.
  • Analyze product preferences, market potential, sales coverage, market size, penetration, marketing practices, and trends, then prepare forecasts and recommendations.
  • Keep relevant teams updated continuously on progress toward business development goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain important international business relationships that support successful business development.
  • Travel frequently internationally within the assigned regions to support customer meetings, demos, trade shows, and related activities.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in one technical area or across multiple work areas, with recognition as an internal and external resource in the field.
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with at least 10 years of related experience, or 16 years of related experience in place of a degree.
  • Deep understanding of international defense and security requirements as well as acquisition processes.
  • Working knowledge of maritime requirements, including manned and unmanned systems.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic fluency is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of current military hardware, open-architecture software initiatives, and defense technology trends related to tactical missions.
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships and work effectively with technical and executive stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate system concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, collaboration, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop productive working relationships with regional sales managers, engineering teams, program management, customers, and internal stakeholders.
