Position Overview
The President role based in Santa Monica, California, demands authoritative leadership to steer all facets of a plastics manufacturing company towards sustainable growth, operational excellence, and enhanced profitability. This full-time, on-site executive position reports directly to the Board of Directors or CEO and encompasses responsibility over manufacturing, operations, engineering, supply chain, sales, finance, quality, and human resources divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute the company's strategic vision and long-term growth initiatives while identifying new markets and partnerships.
- Drive organizational changes and continuous improvements supporting business scalability and sustainability.
- Oversee manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, safety, and cost targets.
- Ensure effective production planning, inventory control, procurement, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other efficiency-boosting methodologies.
- Monitor key performance indicators and take corrective measures to enhance operational outcomes.
- Collaborate with the CFO to prepare budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans, maintaining complete P&L oversight.
- Analyze financial metrics to improve profitability and cash flow, evaluating investment opportunities in manufacturing and operations.
- Work with Sales and Marketing executives to grow market share and build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Support new product initiatives and market commercialization efforts.
- Build and nurture a high-performing leadership team fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, inclusion, and safety.
- Lead succession planning, executive mentoring, and organizational development programs.
- Enforce compliance with OSHA, EPA, environmental, labor, and industry regulations, along with risk management and business continuity strategies.
- Maintain robust corporate governance, ethics, and internal control frameworks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, or related disciplines; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience within manufacturing sectors.
- Minimum 8 years in an executive capacity such as President, COO, EVP, or General Manager.
- Deep expertise specifically in plastics manufacturing methods like injection molding, extrusion, or thermoforming.
- Proven success managing multi-site manufacturing operations and driving strategic business growth.
- Strong financial acumen with comprehensive P&L responsibility and budget management experience.
- Demonstrated capability leading organizational transformations and improving operational efficiency.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
