Pre-Sales Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Position Overview

This role is for an experienced pre-sales professional with a cybersecurity background, focused on building technical proposals and responding to tenders. The position centers on converting customer security needs into well-structured solution designs, producing strong proposal content, and ensuring submission quality and compliance. It is primarily a technical pre-sales function rather than a direct selling role.

What You Will Do

• Review RFP, RFI, and RFQ documents to separate out mandatory, technical, and commercial expectations.
• Draft, refine, and manage technical proposals that fully align with customer requirements.
• Produce Statements of Work, Bills of Quantities, solution write-ups, and related technical documents.
• Build compliance matrices and traceability records for requirements tracking.
• Work with internal specialists and vendors to collect solution details and supporting material.
• Make sure proposal submissions are accurate, compliant, well-presented, and delivered on time.
• Maintain proposal templates and reusable technical content for future bids.
• Support solution scoping, effort estimation, and timeline tracking.
• Contribute to technical presentations and customer solution discussions when needed.
• Keep up to date with cybersecurity tools, standards, and industry practices.

Required Background

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• Professional cybersecurity certifications are considered a plus, though they are not compulsory.
• Applicants should have 5 to 8 years of experience in cybersecurity pre-sales, proposal management, bid writing, technical consulting, or cybersecurity implementation with strong documentation exposure.
• Hands-on experience preparing technical proposals and responding to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs is required.

Technical Knowledge Needed

• Strong capability in technical proposal writing and bid coordination.
• Practical understanding of cybersecurity domains such as SOC, MDR, GRC, IAM/PAM, EDR, SIEM, DLP, and NDR.
• Knowledge of security across networks, endpoints, data, and applications.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks including ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
