This position reports to the ELSE Cluster Manager North Europe and offers a chance to work on diverse global projects in a collaborative and rewarding environment. It suits practical, adaptable engineers eager to progress as technical experts within an innovative electrical consultancy.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver technical leadership on various complex power engineering projects.
• Engage with clients to understand their technical and business needs and transform them into effective engineering solutions.
• Ensure project deliverables align with client expectations, adhere to quality standards, and meet timeline and budget requirements.
• Perform comprehensive power system analysis employing leading methodologies and specialized software tools.
• Prepare detailed technical and non-technical documentation presenting clear, actionable recommendations.
• Participate in remote client meetings, foster trusted relationships, and manage expectations with effective communications.
• Monitor and report on project progress and client satisfaction metrics.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, including delivering online training where necessary.

Typical Project Areas

• Power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and system resilience evaluations.
• Electrical safety and power quality analyses including arc flash, harmonics, and grounding assessments.
• Grid connection and renewable energy integration projects covering stability, harmonics, and compliance.
• Reliability evaluations and failure investigations for critical electrical systems.
• Application of software-based engineering solutions and assessment of emerging technologies.
• Support for wind energy projects throughout design, installation, and commissioning phases.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proficiency in performing power system studies such as short circuit analysis, protection coordination, and arc flash evaluations, particularly in complex electrical infrastructure projects.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in power systems engineering delivering dependable and safe electrical solutions.
• Advanced capabilities with industry-standard power system analysis software, like SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in designing protection systems, configuring settings, and conducting coordination studies involving transformer and bus differential protection, Restricted Earth Fault (REF), and directional protection schemes.
• Competency in electrical calculations and design formulation aligned with IEC standards.
• Familiarity with power quality, harmonics, and renewable energy integration is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills, client collaboration, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Fluency in English with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
