Pool Lifeguard

Position Overview

As a Pool Lifeguard at JW Marriott in Doha, Qatar, your central role will be ensuring swimmer safety through vigilant observation and prompt rescue actions. You will monitor aquatic activities to identify hazards or swimmers in distress, upholding the facility's rules and guiding guests' safe involvement in aquatic recreation.

Key Duties

• Apply suitable rescue techniques for swimmers in difficulty.
• Supervise swimming areas to detect hazardous conditions and prevent unsafe behavior.
• Promote and enforce the recreational facility's policies and regulations.
• Identify guests who may be unable to safely participate and communicate concerns to supervisors.
• Provide first aid and support to injured guests until professional medical responders arrive.
• Create a welcoming, fun, and comfortable environment for all guests.
• Handle towel collection, folding, and organization in line with organizational standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck including washing and mopping duties.
• Report workplace accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions promptly to management.
• Participate in mandatory safety training and obtain/maintain necessary certifications.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, confidentiality, and asset protection guidelines.
• Greet and engage with guests professionally and courteously, accommodating individuals with disabilities.
• Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and guests.
• Support coworkers in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Conduct regular visual inspections of equipment and tools to identify defects.
• Physically capable of performing extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting; handling objects, including lifting up to 50 pounds unaided and heavier with assistance.
• Navigate sloped, uneven, or slippery surfaces safely and use ladders, stairs, and ramps appropriately.
• Carry out additional tasks as reasonably requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
• No prior experience required; suitable for entry-level candidates.
• Mandatory certifications include CPR and First Aid.
• Fitness equipment knowledge or certification is a plus.
• Any additional local or state-required certifications or training must be obtained.
