About the Role
The Planning Officer plays a vital role in coordinating and supporting projects within the organization's operations. This position helps ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of ongoing and upcoming projects, aligning them with the company’s overarching goals. Key duties involve assisting in planning and evaluation activities, monitoring project progress, managing costs, and maintaining adherence to timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare planning data for project progress submissions, collaborating closely with Project Managers and Site Quantity Surveyors to ensure timely weekly and monthly report delivery.
- Generate planning documents, including manpower requirements and material procurement reports, in line with approved programs.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data entry under the supervision of Planning Engineers.
- Support the development and application of innovative planning tools and methodologies.
- Ensure all planning processes comply with established organizational procedures and regulations.
- Track daily work progress, providing reliable weekly and monthly reports, and promptly communicate any delays or deviations from schedules.
- Compare planned versus actual project progress, reporting discrepancies to Planning Engineers.
- Ensure precise tracking and updates for various reporting periods to monitor variance from productivity targets and contractual schedules.
- Provide status feedback on subcontractor schedules to Planning Managers and Engineers.
- Prepare and update project schedules and monitor progress through regular reporting.
- Enter progress updates and relevant data into Excel spreadsheets and other planning software.
- Collaborate effectively with project stakeholders, providing real-time status updates to vendors, managers, and relevant personnel.
- Contribute to health, safety, and environmental initiatives by engaging in safety awareness activities and supporting incident reporting and resolution as per company policies.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of organizational planning systems and document management techniques.
- Proficient with various planning tools and methodologies.
- Ability to scope projects and develop schedules ensuring on-time and on-budget project completion.
- Experience or knowledge of planning-related software applications.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly SAP functional modules, is a significant advantage.
Qualifications and Experience
Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related disciplines is required.
