Position Overview
As a Payroll Specialist based in Hannover or Wiesmoor, you will independently manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy from data maintenance through to final payroll runs using SAP HCM. You will generate reports and analyses, monitor key payroll indicators, engage actively in payroll projects for process improvement, and manage tax and social security compliance. Direct communication with health insurance funds, authorities, and external partners will be part of your role alongside handling certifications, notifications, company car and garnishment matters. Additionally, you will support month-end and year-end payroll closings including personnel provisions, and serve as the dedicated contact for employees and leadership for payroll-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Manage full cycle monthly payroll in SAP HCM independently
- Prepare payroll reports and track relevant metrics
- Participate in payroll projects and optimize processes
- Provide expertise on wage tax and social insurance regulations
- Liaise with health insurance providers, authorities, and external partners
- Process certificates and mandatory filings efficiently
- Handle topics such as company vehicles and garnishments
- Assist with payroll month-end and year-end closing tasks including personnel accruals
- Act as a responsive contact point for staff and managers on payroll issues
Candidate Profile
- Completed commercial apprenticeship, e.g. as a tax clerk
- Several years of experience in payroll accounting
- Strong knowledge of tax and social insurance laws
- Preferably experienced with SAP HCM system
- Experience in creating reports and ideally in provisions accounting
- Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel
- Organized, independent working style with a strong team orientation
