Job description

Job Overview

Based in Geraldton, WA, the Parts Interpreter role reports to the Parts Supervisor and involves handling customer orders and enquiries with precision and excellent service. This position includes supporting warehouse duties such as stock management, picking and packing, inventory audits, and ensuring a clean, safe, and orderly environment. A strong customer service orientation, positive attitude, keen attention to detail, and adherence to quality and compliance standards are essential.

Work Schedule

The role operates Monday through Friday for 9.5 hours daily (including breaks) with a rotating Saturday every two weeks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret customers’ part requirements involving a variety of parts for trucks, machinery, construction, and mining equipment.
  • Procure and expedite parts both locally and internationally, ensuring orders are fulfilled timely and precisely from placement to delivery.
  • Handle customer inquiries via face-to-face interactions, phone calls, and emails, prioritizing exceptional customer service experiences.
  • Provide support to internal departments including workshops and field service teams.
  • Assist in warehouse functions such as stock control, order picking and packing, and conducting inventory checks.
  • Promptly escalate issues and maintain consistent communication to prevent delays or mistakes.
  • Display a proactive and reliable demeanor, strong organizational skills, and capability to work efficiently under pressure.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience in parts interpretation or store roles within automotive or machinery industries is highly preferred.
  • Strong customer service abilities for managing interactions in-person, over the phone, and via email.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail especially when sourcing and matching parts.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with computers and adaptability to various systems or databases.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to meeting customer and internal stakeholder requirements.
