Opportunity Overview
The firm is seeking skilled and motivated Paralegals to join its Litigation & Arbitration team on fixed-term contracts of 12 months. Candidates should have prior paralegal experience or transferable skills from a litigation-related setting. Roles involve supporting two key high-volume litigation streams:
- Motor finance litigation positions located in Nottingham or Birmingham;
- Retail banking disputes roles available in Nottingham, Birmingham, or Cardiff.
This position presents a valuable chance to gain practical litigation experience, assisting senior lawyers in delivering excellent litigation support within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Team Description
The Litigation & Arbitration team manages a diverse range of complex, high-value disputes including commercial litigation, arbitration, financial services disputes, regulatory contentions, and pensions litigation. The team works closely across UK and international offices, blending technical expertise with innovative approaches, and values approachable, talent-focused collaboration.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of cases, including drafting legal correspondence, assembling document bundles, managing disclosure obligations, and filing court procedural documents.
- Perform legal research and summarize findings to support litigation work.
- Communicate with courts, clients, counsel, and external parties to ensure efficient case progress.
- Maintain accurate tracking of court deadlines to ensure procedural compliance.
- Prepare and file necessary court documentation.
- Provide administrative assistance such as billing support and matter management.
- Ensure adherence to internal risk management and conflict of interest procedures.
- Support maintenance and updating of Standard Operating Procedures and templates as required.
- Assist with data collection for reporting on claim volumes, results, and trends.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience as a paralegal in disputes or litigation teams, or equivalent skills transferable from similar environments.
- Sound knowledge of court procedures and deadline management, capable of handling multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong organizational abilities with effective prioritization of tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
