Position Summary

The Painter role, reporting directly to the Team Leader, involves precise application of paint finishes to steel components according to established codes and specifications. This role requires adherence to finish requirements, preparation and mixing of paint, operation of spray equipment, and accurate documentation of paint usage and environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and follow paint finish code sheets for product requirements.
  • Effectively mask materials per technical drawings.
  • Review product data sheets and prepare paint mixtures according to project standards.
  • Paint steel pieces using designated techniques and equipment to meet thickness specifications.
  • Take precise Dry Film Thickness (DFT) measurements.
  • Maintain detailed daily logs of paint consumption.
  • Complete associated paperwork including paint codes, products used, and ambient conditions.
  • Clean and maintain painting equipment, including flushing pumps and removing residual paint.
  • Safely rig, hoist, and flip materials in the paint booth using overhead cranes.

Work Details

  • Location: Princeton fabrication facility
  • Shift Hours: 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM (afternoon shift)

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of one year experience in painting, specifically with air-assisted spray equipment.
  • Experience with airless spray equipment is a considerable advantage.
  • Familiarity with industrial paint products and spray systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics.
  • Capability to operate overhead crane machinery safely.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety protocols.
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively within a demanding work environment.
  • Organizational skills and flexibility to manage shifting priorities.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
