Operations / Senior Operations Manager

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute operational processes spanning fulfillment centers, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery networks.
• Lead hiring, training, and development of a motivated workforce for sort hubs, collaborating closely with HR and training teams to meet city-specific operational goals while ensuring Amazon's high standards for quality and productivity.
• Ensure adequate operational capacity during peak volume periods through effective resource planning.
• Coordinate operations with Finance, Delivery Stations, Fulfillment Centers, and Project teams for seamless city-wide management.
• Conduct performance evaluations and mentor team members to achieve efficient operations.
• Drive continuous process improvements to enhance quality, minimize waste, and eliminate inefficiencies.
• Perform detailed data analysis to pinpoint performance bottlenecks and implement corrective strategies.

Typical Day

• Lead regional initiatives focusing on safety, team engagement, network efficiency, and cost optimization.
• Facilitate daily stand-ups, Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs), Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs), and peak preparedness discussions.
• Apply continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen to optimize operational performance.
• Finalize labor planning to balance cost control and high-performance standards while preserving associate satisfaction.
• Guide and coach operations managers in challenging existing processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaborating with central program teams and regional leaders to adopt best practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification; candidates with significant experience but without a degree will also be considered.
• Strong communication and leadership skills capable of influencing and uniting teams.
• Analytical capability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• High ownership mentality focused on delivering superior customer experiences.
