Join Our Team as a Mill Helper

At Amrize in Woodstock, Ontario, step into the role of a Mill Helper and contribute to projects that help build North America’s infrastructure. This full-time, onsite position involves a variety of responsibilities essential to the production process at our aggregates facility.

Role Overview

The Mill Helper performs a blend of housekeeping duties, the operation of both fixed and mobile equipment for aggregate production, plus everyday maintenance and repairs as assigned. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and supports smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion safety by engaging with employees, health and safety committees, subcontractors, and suppliers to enforce a zero-incident objective.
  • Uphold all safety policies and meet or surpass Lafarge and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and operational plant and site environment.
  • Be knowledgeable about safety processes including Near Miss, Hazard Identification, Motor Vehicle Accidents, First Aid, Medical Incidents, Lost Time Injuries, daily safety briefings, risk assessments, and confined space and working at heights permits.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance inspections and assist in repairing equipment malfunctions or breakdowns.
  • Support plant repairs and perform work at heights as necessary.
  • Carry out cleaning using skid steers and hand tools.
  • Operate designated mobile equipment following pre-operational checks and training.
  • Commit to health, safety, and environmental policies and promote a safety-focused culture consistently.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma or comparable credential.
  • Experience in industrial/mining plants is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Heavy equipment operation knowledge is preferred.
  • Basic welding and fitting skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and indoors where it may be hot, noisy, or dusty.
  • Physical mobility across the plant, including using stairs and ladders, is essential.
  • Capable of regular bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting weights under 50 pounds.
  • Must comply with all safety requirements including the proper use of approved personal protective equipment such as respirators; clean-shaven face required for respirator fit testing.

Additional Information

The position requires working shifts that may include split shifts from 3:30 PM to 1:30 AM or 9:45 PM to 6:45 AM, Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary.
