MEP & Processing Maintenance Manager

About the Role

Located across multiple sites in Ghana including Mpakadan, Anyaase, Asutsuare, and various depots, this senior management position demands a hands-on and battle-tested professional to lead the maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and processing infrastructure for Tropo Farms Ltd. The company seeks a leader capable of bringing order to complex and imperfect operational environments through effective technical supervision and decisive management.

Primary Responsibilities

• Establish and enforce formal maintenance procedures and schedules where such frameworks are currently inadequate or absent.
• Conduct rigorous technical audits to bridge skill gaps among base technicians, ensuring fault diagnoses are accurate and maintenance is executed correctly the first time.
• Navigate slow procurement processes by implementing contingency plans, managing critical spare parts inventory, and innovating safe interim solutions to maintain uninterrupted plant operations.
• Oversee power generation systems including diesel, solar, and grid power, along with both high and low voltage electrical distribution, as well as water treatment facilities across all operational sites.
• Manage the maintenance of industrial refrigeration units such as ice machines and cold rooms, as well as food processing machinery, to guarantee zero production downtime.
• Lead projects related to equipment installation in upcoming facility expansions and develop maintenance protocols for new assets from inception.

Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
• At least eight years of practical industrial plant maintenance experience including prior management of multi-site operations.
• Hands-on expertise with diesel generators and alternators, industrial refrigeration (HVAC and cold room systems), electrical network infrastructure, and PLC/automation technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing large, geographically dispersed teams and coordinating third-party contractors in challenging conditions.

Candidate Profile - What We Are Not Looking For

• Resumes containing generic or vague descriptions lacking specific technical achievements related to machines repaired or operational challenges tackled will be rejected.
• Candidates whose professional history is predominantly theoretical or office-based with minimal direct involvement on the plant floor will not be considered.
• Applicants who held nominal managerial titles but did not effectively oversee budgets or optimize infrastructure will not qualify.
• This position requires seasoned managers only; we are not able to provide training for first-time supervisors.
