Member Service Representative

About the Role

A well-established Credit Union based in Cork is looking to hire a Member Services Representative on a fixed-term contract lasting 12 months. This community-oriented financial institution offers a vibrant work environment with exposure to a variety of functions including member services, lending, and branch operations. The role requires occasional travel between branches and Saturday work.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver frontline services to members involving lodgements, withdrawals, and loan repayments
• Manage cash transactions diligently, reconcile balances, and resolve any discrepancies
• Assess and process loan applications within set lending authorization limits
• Perform various administrative duties to ensure smooth daily branch operations
• Maintain compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), risk management, data privacy, and internal policies
• Support overall branch functions and undertake other duties as assigned

• Proficiency in information technology and confidence working with computer systems
• Capacity to perform accurately under pressure
• Self-driven with responsibility for task ownership and decision-making
• Availability for Saturday work and willingness to travel between branches

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in credit unions, banking, or financial services
• Background handling cash transactions in retail or financial settings
• Relevant certifications such as QFA, CUA, APA, or progress towards these
• Familiarity with the Progress Banking System is a plus
