Role Overview
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is leading Singapore's transformation into a premier Digital Economy by enabling businesses and the workforce to leverage digital innovations and foster digital trust. This position is seeking a Manager to spearhead Research, Innovation, and Enterprise (RIE) initiatives focused on AI and Trust Technologies. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping research-to-business development strategies, facilitating thought leadership nationally and internationally, and coordinating cross-domain research projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement research-to-business transition strategies in AI, Trust Technologies, and interdisciplinary research aligned with Singapore's strategic priorities.
- Prepare initiatives for RIE funding and establish success frameworks for research programs.
- Build strategic partnerships and collaborative projects with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and Research Institutes (RIs) in AI, Trust, and cross-domain fields.
- Represent Singapore and IMDA at research forums, technology discussions, and standards committees.
- Lead efforts to convert research findings into commercially viable business opportunities.
- Forge and manage international collaborations to advance research objectives.
- Support senior leadership by monitoring global trends and developments in AI, Trust Technologies, and related research domains to inform policy-making and risk mitigation.
- Communicate insights and viewpoints on AI and Trust Technologies through blogs, social media, and academic papers.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Brings 5 to 8 years of experience managing technology teams involved in research or engineering functions.
- Well-versed with the RIE (Research, Innovation and Enterprise) ecosystem.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking, teamwork, and collaborative skills.
- Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including strong presentation and engagement skills.
- Capable of managing diverse stakeholders and collaborating effectively with both local and international partners.
