Role Purpose

The Maintenance Technician will deliver technical support by repairing, servicing, and modifying manufacturing equipment. Using technical expertise, manuals, schematics, precision tools, and test devices, the role ensures equipment reliability and efficiency within production areas.

Key Duties

  • Ensure adherence to company and division policies and procedures.
  • Respond promptly to equipment repair calls on assembly lines, diagnose issues, and carry out repairs to restore functionality.
  • Accurately document equipment qualifications, upgrades, preventative maintenance, and parts usage within the Asset Management Integrating Global Operations (AMIGO) system.
  • Maintain backup equipment and manage spare parts inventory to meet manufacturing needs effectively.
  • Collaborate with industrial, manufacturing, and quality engineers to support equipment operations.
  • Provide feedback to equipment development engineers concerning equipment performance and uptime improvements.
  • Assist in the setup of worktables, utilities, and equipment installations on manufacturing assembly lines.
  • Modify assembly lines or workstations as necessary to accommodate changing production requirements.

Educational and Professional Qualifications

  • A National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) Level 6 credential in a related field alongside at least four years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • In-depth understanding of advanced technical concepts and system fundamentals relevant to the role.
  • Ability to interpret complex numerical and statistical data, and proficiency in computer software for documentation and analysis.
  • Experience working within a quality system environment, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations through diligent task execution.
  • Capability to manage complex technical assignments independently; contribute to the design, evaluation, or modification of equipment and processes.
  • Strong judgment, creativity, and leadership in problem-solving and continuous quality improvement.
  • Willingness to mentor junior colleagues and offer guidance within the workgroup.
  • Excellent organizational skills to schedule and prioritize tasks, potentially coordinating activities of other technicians using AMIGO planning tools.
  • Effective decision-making skills to resolve complex issues by assessing methods and procedures thoroughly.
  • Knowledge of organizational structure, key personnel, and product/service portfolios pertinent to the role.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a medical examination including drug and alcohol screening, conducted by a designated medical practitioner.
