Shift and Work Schedule

The role requires working the night shift from 10:45 PM to 7:15 AM, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of occasional weekend shifts and schedule adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure all plant machinery and systems operate efficiently and reliably.
Maintain the facility's functionality and appearance to high standards.
Participate in or take the lead on Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects as assigned.
Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to uphold product quality and safety standards.
Promote workplace safety by monitoring plant operations consistently.
Complete maintenance projects with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities and initiative.
Troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, and repair mechanical devices as needed.
Adjust, fix, or replace malfunctioning parts and control instruments.
Operate and setup shop machinery when necessary.
Use hand and pneumatic tools to modify or repair plant components.
Install, maintain, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Enhance equipment reliability to maximize plant uptime.
Operate forklifts and Sky Jacks safely and efficiently.
Support all food safety and quality-related programs such as BRC, HACCP, GMPs, and allergen control measures.
Research and procure parts, supplies, and equipment essential for maintenance tasks.
Maintain an accurate inventory of parts and tools.
Document and execute work orders and preventive maintenance using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Valid Millwright certification gained through a recognized apprenticeship program or by possessing at least four years of relevant maintenance experience.
Mechanical Trade Certification and forklift/scissor lift license are required.
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
Previous maintenance experience in a regulated food manufacturing environment.
Proven ability to manage maintenance teams across multiple shifts.
Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems such as gearboxes, motors, air compressors, pumps, HVAC, and AC/DC drives troubleshooting.
Experience with complex machine controls, instrumentation, welding/brazing, pneumatics, and carpentry.
Practical mechanical and electrical experience with motors, sensors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and related equipment.
Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.
Physical capability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs) and stand for prolonged periods; comfort working at heights is necessary.
Intermediate computer proficiency and basic mathematics skills.
Strong organizational skills and effective verbal and written communication abilities.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
Capacity to assess situations quickly, allocate resources, and lead timely execution.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, afternoons, nights, and weekends as required.
