Overview
There is an excellent opportunity to join the maintenance team at Eastwood Grange School as a Maintenance Assistant. This role offers secure employment with clear pathways to career progression, providing a meaningful and rewarding experience by positively impacting the lives of young people we support.
Role Responsibilities
The Maintenance Assistant will handle reactive maintenance tasks across the school site and grounds. Given the size of the property, basic gardening duties such as pruning and mowing will also form part of the role. Additionally, you will assist in supporting other homes in the community, coordinate with contractors when they are on-site, and undertake ad-hoc jobs as requested by management.
Who We Support
Eastwood Grange School adopts a personalised, trauma-informed approach to learning, catering to young people aged 5-19 years who may face challenges including social, emotional and mental health needs, autism, ADHD, and pathological demand avoidance. Our environment ensures students feel safe, valued, and fully supported as they overcome educational obstacles.
Our Commitment
As part of Aspris Children’s Services, we invest in your professional growth through comprehensive induction programs, ongoing training, and opportunities for career advancement. Benefits include access to a rewards and discounts scheme, pension plan, paid enhanced DBS checks, wellbeing initiatives, and a cycle to work scheme.
Candidate Attributes
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with general labouring and maintenance tasks and exhibits strong communication skills to interact effectively with young people facing diverse behavioural and developmental challenges. You should demonstrate excellent organisational skills, particularly in maintaining accurate records and scheduling routine maintenance checks. A keen attention to detail is crucial to identify and address issues promptly.
Safeguarding
Aspris is dedicated to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. All applicants must consent to appropriate safeguarding screenings, including Disclosure & Barring Service checks and provide at least two references covering the previous three years, particularly from roles involving children or vulnerable adults. References may be requested before interviews for positions within our schools.
