Role Overview

The Maintenance Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe, well-functioning, and comfortable environment in the care home. This hands-on position involves a variety of maintenance duties, including repairs, basic electrical inspections, installations, and routine upkeep to ensure all systems and equipment operate efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities include promptly addressing maintenance issues, supporting planned maintenance activities, collaborating with the wider team, and adhering to health and safety protocols to uphold compliance and maintain a well-organized, secure, and welcoming setting.

The position requires working Monday through Friday, onsite at the care home.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly wage of £13.71
• Contracted for 37.5 hours per week
• Provision of paid DBS check, pension contributions, and uniform
• Annual leave of 5.6 weeks based on a full-time contract

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, or related roles
• Basic skills in general repairs, electrical systems, and building maintenance
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage workload
• Understanding of health and safety standards and procedures
• Practical, proactive mindset
• Dependable, well-organized, and capable of solving problems effectively
