Role Overview

The Loss Control and Security Process Controller role is a full-time position based on-site in Kwekwe, Midlands Province, Zimbabwe. This position requires leadership of the security team, stewardship of asset protection efforts, prevention of shrinkage, adherence to health and safety standards, and ensuring a safe shopping experience for customers and staff. The role champions a culture of compliance and responsibility throughout the store's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain security by securing all entry and exit points, perimeter access, and operating security systems such as CCTV, alarms, Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), and radio communications.
• Lead initiatives to prevent inventory shrinkage including chairing the Shrinkage Committee, raising awareness programs, and conducting evidence-based investigations into suspected theft and fraud.
• Oversee security service providers by managing deployment, enforcing service level agreements (SLAs), and conducting monthly performance evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety legislation including the NSSA Act, Factory & Works Act, and related Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe, secure, clean, and hygienic environment for both customers and employees.
• Conduct investigations, prepare case reports, collect evidence, and assist in disciplinary proceedings.
• Drive security team efficiency by coaching, holding individual sessions, facilitating cross-training, and planning for succession.
• Monitor compliance with all company policies, procedures, and Loss Control & Security standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain all required statutory compliance documents such as occupancy certificates, fire safety, electrical, and structural certificates.

Qualifications

• O-Level Certificate as minimum educational qualification.
• Diploma in Security Management, Loss Control, or Occupational Health & Safety is advantageous.

Skills and Experience

• Strong skills in investigation and analysis.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and leadership abilities.
• Good communication and professional report writing skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications and security systems including CCTV and EAS.
• Experience handling CCTV and Electronic Article Surveillance technologies.
• Demonstrable integrity and adherence to high ethical standards.
• Capability to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
• At least three years of work experience in loss control, security management, or retail operational roles.
• Familiarity with legal frameworks such as the NSSA Act and Factory & Works Act, and knowledge of retail shrinkage control methods.
