Lead Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis

About the Role

Kāinga Ora is searching for a proficient Lead Analyst specializing in Financial Planning & Analysis to spearhead the organisation's budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management efforts. Situated within the Finance Group, this key position offers financial insights and detailed reporting at the organisational level to empower leaders to make sound decisions aligned with strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Take charge of the forecasting and budgeting procedures across various business divisions.
• Maintain, develop, and review both operating and capital budget forecasts.
• Ensure the completeness and precision of consolidated forecast and budget data for internal and external purposes.
• Contribute to long-term financial and strategic business planning initiatives.
• Prepare comprehensive performance reports, forecasts, and presentations for management review.
• Provide forward-thinking and timely advice that enhances organisational performance.
• Forge strong relationships with business stakeholders to identify challenges and opportunities.
• Effectively present complex financial information tailored to diverse audiences.
• Influence key decision-making processes and negotiate practical solutions to business challenges.
• Lead and support critical projects that add value and improve organisational results.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification coupled with a minimum of five years of related experience.
• Robust commercial awareness and deep understanding of business drivers.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance management.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
• Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable business insights.
• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities adaptable to various audiences.
• Proven skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
• Capacity to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and consistently deliver quality results.
• Professional demeanor with sound judgment, fostering trust and credibility.
