Role Overview

This role provides proactive and collaborative Quality Engineering support to Red Bull Powertrains' manufacturing, engineering, inspection teams, and subcontract suppliers to ensure a smooth supply of top-quality parts. The position emphasizes nurturing strong working relationships and promoting a quality assurance mindset using appropriate tools, aiming to continuously enhance quality performance and technical abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality assurance strategies for internal manufacturing in alignment with department leadership.
• Employ statistical process control and related techniques to analyze, report, and track manufacturing quality performance metrics.
• Investigate quality issues that escape the manufacturing process, initiate containment, and ensure effective resolution via solid problem-solving methods.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and subcontract suppliers to address non-conformances prioritizing risks effectively.
• Engage in risk reduction efforts by identifying patterns, managing improvement projects, and applying proactive, data-driven risk strategies.
• Plan and execute manufacturing facility audits to proactively assess business risks and suggest mitigations.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to decrease perceived risks and enhance processes.
• Support design-for-manufacture and inspection by collaborating with manufacturing, QC, and design teams, ensuring designs are producible with validated measurement systems.
• Represent the customer's quality expectations to subcontract suppliers, driving improvements and fostering cooperative relationships.
• Lead onboarding of new subcontract suppliers to ensure full comprehension and compliance with Red Bull's quality standards.
• Coordinate with supplier quality teams to harmonize documentation and procedural updates that benefit both internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead projects aimed at continuous improvement of quality processes and systems.
• Implement risk-based detection strategies to reliably identify non-conformances.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Degree qualification or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering or quality roles.
• Proficient understanding of preventative quality tools including Design for Manufacture (DFM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Control Plans.
• Familiarity with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa diagrams, and Is-Is Not analysis.
• Experience working in a manufacturing machine shop environment.
• Preferred but not mandatory: auditing and lead auditing qualifications and experience.
• Basic understanding of metrology principles and familiarity with measurement techniques and equipment.
