Investor Relations Associate

About the Role

A prestigious $2 billion private equity firm is seeking an Investor Relations Associate to enhance its investor communication, fundraising, and marketing activities. This role works closely with senior leadership, including Partners and the CFO/Chief Compliance Officer, supporting existing limited partners and aiding future capital-raising campaigns.

The position offers comprehensive exposure to investor relations, marketing strategies, fundraising efforts, and strategic communications. Candidates should possess strong financial acumen, exceptional organizational skills, superior communication abilities, and be adept at managing multiple priorities within a dynamic work environment. A proactive approach to improving operations through technology and ownership of projects from inception to execution is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver quarterly investor reports and comprehensive communication packages.
• Prepare investor updates, capital notices, annual meeting materials, and manage communications throughout the year.
• Collaborate with finance and investment teams to gather and verify data for investor reports.
• Maintain digital investor resources such as virtual data rooms and document repositories.
• Support capital raising by creating and updating offering memoranda, due diligence questionnaires, and marketing documents.
• Manage the investor pipeline within the CRM, tracking prospects, meetings, commitments, and follow-ups.
• Facilitate diligence requests by organizing materials, scheduling meetings, and managing ongoing correspondence with prospective investors.
• Conduct research on institutional investors, consultants, family offices, and relevant industry events tailored to the firm's fundraising strategy.
• Utilize AI-powered research tools to identify fundraising opportunities, assess investor compatibility, and enhance sourcing effectiveness.
• Develop briefing materials for partner meetings, including investor profiles, relationship histories, and key discussion points.
• Assist with performance analysis and benchmarking used in fundraising efforts.
• Act as the primary contact for investor inquiries and communications, supporting long-term relationships with limited partners and other stakeholders.
• Track investor interactions and preferences to improve engagement and relationship management.
• Update and maintain investor-facing marketing collateral, including presentations, fact sheets, website content, and ensure consistent branding and messaging.
• Support conference planning, speaking engagement coordination, and other external marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in investor relations, fundraising, institutional marketing, or client communications within private equity, alternative asset management, or related investment sectors.
• Exceptional writing skills capable of producing professional materials for institutional investors.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite—especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Word—and familiarity with CRM systems and AI-enabled productivity tools.
• Solid grasp of private equity fund performance, portfolio analytics, and investment concepts, with the ability to translate financial data into clear messaging.
• Proven initiative to improve processes, increase efficiency, and implement technology solutions.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects with high accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Proactive in anticipating investor needs and resolving potential issues early.
• Familiarity with private equity fund structures, investor reporting standards, and distribution waterfalls is preferred.
• Holding FINRA Series 7 or Series 65 certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
