Position Overview
Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine is looking for a meticulous and patient-focused Insurance Verification Specialist to join our expanding healthcare team in West Palm Beach, FL. This role is vital in confirming insurance details accurately and assisting patients in understanding their financial obligations prior to receiving treatment.
Key Duties
- Confirm patient insurance eligibility, plan benefits, and coverage before scheduled appointments.
- Analyze insurance policy details, including out-of-network benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copayments, and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Secure necessary prior authorizations and pre-certifications from insurance providers.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve issues related to eligibility, coverage, and authorizations.
- Keep precise records and update patient insurance data in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Provide clear explanations to patients about their insurance coverage and expected financial responsibilities.
- Work closely with healthcare providers, scheduling personnel, and the billing department to ensure timely and accurate claims processing.
- Uphold HIPAA rules and company policies to protect patient confidentiality.
- Perform other tasks as needed to support team and company goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least two years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or a relevant healthcare area.
- Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance plans, especially out-of-network benefits.
- Proven ability to obtain prior authorizations and interact effectively with insurance carriers.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) software and Microsoft Office tools.
- High attention to detail and strong accuracy in work.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational capabilities and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing productively to a team environment.
- Previous background in a physician’s office or medical practice is preferred.
