About the Role
Located just 14 miles from London, Bombardier’s Business Aircraft London Service Centre at Biggin Hill stands as the largest Business Aircraft OEM in the UK and a central hub for maintenance, upgrades, and modifications supporting the UK and wider European region. As an Indirect Buyer, you will be instrumental in securing goods and services essential for daily operations, ensuring both cost efficiency and regulatory compliance within a fast-paced aviation setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage indirect procurement categories, including facilities, IT, professional services, protective equipment, and MRO supplies.
- Identify, source, and negotiate with suppliers for a variety of indirect goods and services such as facility management, office supplies, uniforms, IT equipment, and ground transportation.
- Draft and manage Requests for Quotations/Proposals and facilitate contract agreements, aligning with aviation industry regulations and working closely with the Legal and Compliance teams.
- Set and deliver annual cost-saving goals by identifying opportunities for cost avoidance and improving procurement processes.
- Act as a procurement partner to various departments including Finance, HR, IT, Facilities, and Operations, translating their needs into purchase requirements.
- Handle purchase orders, track deliveries, and resolve any discrepancies in invoicing using procurement software such as SAP or Ariba.
- Monitor supplier risk, support sustainability initiatives, and maintain business continuity.
Qualifications and Experience
- 3 to 6 years’ background in indirect procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably within aviation, MRO, airline, or airport environments.
- Proficient in supplier negotiations, vendor relationship management, and excel-based data analysis.
- Familiarity with SAP or Ariba procurement tools preferred.
- Awareness of aviation-related regulations, audit processes, and supplier quality standards is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline required; CIPS or CPSM certification is an asset.
