Role Overview
As the second member of the HR team, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of HR to handle a wide variety of human resource activities from daily operations to strategic program development. This hands-on, impactful role allows you to influence growth and shape people programs on a lean, dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine HR programs and workflows, ensuring clarity, compliance, and user-friendliness.
- Maintain accurate employee records and safeguard data integrity across platforms.
- Conduct documentation and compliance audits to identify gaps and streamline processes.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment including job postings, interview coordination, candidate engagement, and offer administration.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to deliver consistent and positive candidate experiences.
- Support employees and managers through all stages of the employee lifecycle—onboarding, promotions, offboarding, policy guidance, and leave management.
- Serve as a first contact point for employee inquiries, providing sound judgment in problem resolution.
- Assist with performance review logistics, tracking, and communications.
- Contribute to evolving talent management strategies and programs.
- Monitor and uphold compliance with regulations across more than 25 states, including policy updates and mandatory notices.
- Act as the daily liaison for benefits vendors and HR partners.
- Support benefits and payroll processes such as open enrollment and life event handling.
- Educate employees on benefit offerings and coordinate relevant communications with vendors.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will be trusted partners who take ownership with strong follow-through and are comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments. Communicating effectively and warmly, both verbally and in writing, and approaching tasks with humility and a team-first attitude are essential. You should be passionate about scaling HR foundations and making meaningful contributions to company culture.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of advancing experience in human resources.
- Hands-on experience in multiple HR areas including employee relations, payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, HR operations, and recruiting support.
- Experience in startup or high-growth environments preferred.
- Solid understanding of HR compliance fundamentals, employment laws, record maintenance, and confidentiality.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms; experience with Rippling is a plus.
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is advantageous.
