Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The role primarily involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy trucks and commercial vehicles, ensuring their optimal performance and safety.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly inspect and diagnose mechanical issues in heavy trucks and commercial vehicles.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, gearboxes, clutches, differentials, and drivetrains.
• Handle diagnosis and repair of air brake systems, hydraulic brakes, steering mechanisms, and suspension components.
• Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance following manufacturers' guidelines.
• Replace or fix damaged engine parts such as belts, hoses, bearings, filters, and seals.
• Conduct engine overhauls and major mechanical repairs whenever necessary.
• Troubleshoot and resolve engine overheating, oil leaks, unusual noises, vibrations, and performance irregularities.
• Maintain and inspect fuel injection, cooling, lubrication, and exhaust systems.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and workshop equipment to identify issues effectively.
• Conduct road testing and final inspections post-repair.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, spare parts usage, and inspection reports.
• Report significant defects and spare part requirements to supervisory personnel.
• Adhere strictly to workshop safety protocols and properly maintain all tools and equipment.
• Ensure the workshop remains clean, organized, and safe at all times.

Requirements

• A certified ITI, Diploma, or other technical qualification in Automobile Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of three to five years of experience working as a Truck or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
• Proven expertise with heavy trucks, trailers, buses, or similar commercial vehicles.
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, brake systems, suspension, and steering.
• Experience in performing engine overhauls and major repairs to mechanical components.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and mechanical diagrams accurately.
• Proficiency using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and workshop machinery effectively.
• Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
• Basic English communication skills to interact and report effectively.

Additional Information

The initial contract duration is two months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
