Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain the pristine appearance of Palm Lake Resort Hervey Bay. This full-time role involves working 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 6am and 5pm, performing hands-on care of gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces to keep them safe, clean, and visually appealing throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Trim hedges and trees to maintain healthy growth and neat appearance.
• Mow lawns, edge borders, and use whipper snipper equipment for neatness.
• Apply herbicides to control weeds and pests effectively and safely.
• Rake and blow leaves, prune vegetation, and remove dying plants from grounds.
• Plant, mulch, and care for flowers and shrubs, including irrigation system maintenance and watering.
• Manage the outdoor presentation for facilities such as barbecue areas and pools.
• Maintain all mechanical tools and equipment in good working condition.

Candidate Requirements

• Possession of a valid "C" class driver's licence.
• Prior gardening experience in a similar groundskeeping role.
• Certification such as Cert III in Horticulture or similar qualification is beneficial.
• ACDC chemical licence is an advantage for handling herbicides.
• Practical skills in operating equipment like push mowers, ride-on mowers, hedge trimmers, whipper snippers, and leaf blowers.
• Physical capability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and carrying.
• Ability to work with initiative and minimal supervision.
