Greenhouse Labourer

Overview

This role involves performing essential tasks within a greenhouse environment to support plant cultivation and maintenance. The position requires physical effort and attention to detail in a dynamic setting.

Languages & Education

• Proficiency in English is necessary.
• No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is required.

Experience & Training

Prior experience is not necessary as training will be provided.

Working Location

All work duties must be carried out on site at the physical greenhouse location; remote work is not permitted.

Work Environment

• The workplace is often wet and damp.
• Temperatures may be hot within the greenhouse.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning crops and the greenhouse area.
• Managing climate control systems.
• Weeding and soil preparation including mixing soils.
• Planting bulbs, seeds, and potting or repotting plants.
• Transplanting seedlings or cuttings as necessary.
• Monitoring plants to report any insect infestations or disease signs.
• Watering and maintaining plants, lawns, and gardens.
• Keeping the work area tidy.

Additional Information - Work Conditions & Physical Requirements

• The position involves a fast-paced workflow with repetitive tasks.
• Physical demands include handling heavy objects (up to 23 kg or 50 lbs), standing for long periods, as well as bending, crouching, and kneeling.
• High attention to detail is critical to success in this role.
