Position Overview

The role of General Manager encompasses strategic oversight and comprehensive leadership to ensure smooth operations within production, quality control, sales, marketing, distribution, finance, HR, customer service, and compliance. The incumbent will spearhead strategy formulation and execution aimed at profitability, operational efficiency, growth, and market expansion while upholding top-tier product quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and steer the company’s strategic vision and business plans aligned with growth targets.
• Lead implementation of organizational goals over short, medium, and long-term horizons.
• Advise the Board of Directors with strategic insights and recommendations.
• Scout for new market opportunities, product diversification routes, and operational enhancements.
• Analyze industry trends, competitor behavior, and regulatory changes to inform decisions.
• Manage daily functions spanning production, logistics, procurement, warehousing, and administration to ensure resource efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement by optimizing processes and monitoring performance metrics across departments.
• Safeguard timely production and distribution to meet consumer demands.
• Prepare and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial monitoring, ensuring profitability and cost controls.
• Ensure compliance with financial management practices, internal controls, and statutory obligations.
• Lead sales and marketing strategies for revenue growth, new client acquisition, and market presence enhancement.
• Maintain rigorous quality assurance by complying with Food and Drugs Authority and Ghana Standards Authority requirements.
• Oversee audit processes and execute corrective actions concerning quality and regulatory adherence.
• Lead human resource functions including recruitment, development, engagement, and compliance with labor laws, promoting a safe and productive workplace culture.
• Represent the company with regulators, industry bodies, customers, and community stakeholders to build sustainable relationships and enhance corporate reputation.
• Identify risks related to operations, finance, compliance, and reputation; institute mitigation plans and uphold corporate governance standards.
• Drive business continuity planning and crisis management activities.

Required Education and Experience

• A Master’s Degree in fields such as Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Industrial or Operations Management, Marketing, Finance, or related disciplines.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a pertinent field is mandatory.
• Additional professional certifications in project management, quality management, or corporate leadership are advantageous.
• At least five years of progressive leadership experience inclusive of senior management roles, preferably within manufacturing, beverage, FMCG, water production, or a related sector.
• Proven success managing large-scale multi-disciplinary teams and complex operations.
