Job Overview

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites qualified candidates to join our diverse team, reflecting the rich backgrounds of our global membership. We are currently seeking a Gardener to contribute to maintaining and enhancing our grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate hand and power mowers to keep lawns neat, adhering to the original landscape designs by planting perennials, shrubs, and trees.
• Trim and edge areas around walls, flower beds, and walkways using hand clippers and power edging tools, including utilizing heavy tractors and other large equipment as necessary.
• Prune and shape shrubs and trees to promote healthy growth and improve the aesthetic appearance of the grounds.
• Apply treatments for disease, weed, and insect control on lawns, shrubs, and trees, and carry out regular fertilization in compliance with relevant laws and standards.
• Ensure all machinery and power equipment are routinely serviced and maintained in good working condition.
• Provide instructions and support to volunteers assisting with grounds upkeep.
• Manage watering schedules and efforts for lawns and garden areas.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support grounds maintenance.

Qualifications

• Possess 2 to 3 years of practical experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, landscaping, or comparable fields, with a solid understanding of diverse plants and fertilizers.
• Skilled in handling light machinery and well-versed in Microsoft Office applications.
• Physically fit, capable of lifting weights up to 50 pounds and performing active outdoor tasks.
• Excellent verbal communication skills in English with the ability to operate both independently and as part of a team.
• Educational background includes a minimum of Senior High School certificate or an equivalent qualification.
• Comfortable and competent in using computers independently.
• Must hold worthiness consistent with a Temple Recommend.
