Located in Germany, this role seeks a Games Mathematician to contribute to a dynamic, creativity-driven game development environment. The position involves applying mathematical expertise to develop compelling and dependable player experiences in casino and slot games.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, manage, and oversee mathematical frameworks that underpin casino and slot game features including Return to Player (RTP) calculations, betting structures, jackpot settings, and other game-related metadata.
- Maintain precise, version-controlled mathematical documentation consistent with the final released game behavior.
- Establish and refine internal standards, templates, and procedures to enhance consistency and efficiency throughout game production.
- Construct spreadsheet-based models and software simulations to independently verify mathematical models developed internally or provided by third parties.
- Execute thorough analytical evaluations, verification tasks, and formal assessments of game mathematics prior to certification and launch.
- Analyze live game performance data, benchmark actual outcomes against theoretical models, and investigate any discrepancies.
- Create and sustain mathematical utilities, calculators, and automation tools to streamline production workflows.
- Develop, test, and document code related to mathematical validation and tooling processes.
- Collaborate with game designers, engineers, and external contributors to ensure accurate mathematical model implementation.
- Serve as the mathematical authority, effectively communicating complex concepts to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is mandatory.
- Proven professional experience in creating, validating, or managing mathematical models specifically for casino, slot, or gaming products.
- Deep knowledge of applied mathematics, probability theory, statistics, and analytical modeling techniques.
- Practical experience developing software tools for mathematical applications using languages such as Python, JavaScript, or equivalents.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with capabilities to build complex models and automate calculation processes.
- Strong analytical thinking coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and an evidence-based methodology for decision-making.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with an aptitude for producing clear technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and convey mathematical ideas to non-expert audiences.
- Familiarity with regulated iGaming environments, including RTP certification, jackpot mechanics, volatility analysis, game engine integration, or software development is highly desirable but not essential.
