Full Stack Software Engineer

Founded in late 2024, Omnisent is a Munich-based company specializing in acoustic AI, creating advanced sensing solutions that convert sound into immediate actionable intelligence. The team is composed of experts in physics, machine learning, and mechanical engineering, all driven by a goal to reveal the hidden intelligence within sound.

Central to Omnisent’s technology are ultra-low-power sonic devices combined with their Large Acoustic Model (LAM), a foundational model trained on complex non-speech audio data. This technology enables real-time detection, identification, and localization of sounds, such as spotting drones in restricted airspace or detecting air leaks in manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging, user-friendly web applications and dashboards that simplify the monitoring of complex sensor networks.
• Create backend services and APIs to handle device provisioning, managing device fleets, over-the-air updates, and secure data access.
• Work alongside external UI/UX designers and engineering teams to transform concepts into production-ready applications.
• Develop secure user management systems including encryption and role-based access controls.
• Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting Omnisent’s platform, such as storage solutions, APIs, authentication, and system monitoring.
• Build internal tools to support testing automation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance processes.
• Collaborate closely with embedded systems, radio frequency, and AI teams to ensure smooth integration across devices, cloud, and user interfaces.
• Contribute to continuous integration and delivery workflows to maintain high availability and reliability in production environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years professional experience working in full stack or backend development roles.
• Proficiency in at least one backend programming language such as Node.js, Python, or Go and one modern frontend framework like React or Vue.
• Experience in creating and using secure APIs and implementing state-of-the-art authentication and authorization mechanisms.
• Knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern cloud-based system architectures.
• Strong understanding of software security best practices.
• Familiarity with continuous integration/delivery pipelines, application monitoring, and deployment strategies.
• Effective communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage.
• Authorization to work within the European Union.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing backend systems for Internet of Things (IoT) or distributed systems.
• Background in multi-tenant architectures or projects with sensitive security requirements.
• History of collaborating with external partners or development agencies.
• Hands-on knowledge of event-driven system designs and scalable cloud infrastructures.
• Experience working in startup environments with enthusiasm for building new technology platforms from the ground up.
