Food Counter Attendant

Job Overview

This permanent position requires employees to work primarily in English, contributing to a fast-paced food service environment with shifts of 35 to 40 hours weekly. No formal educational credentials are necessary, and on-the-job training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure cleanliness and readiness of dining utensils and tableware, including bringing clean dishes and flatware to serving areas and setting tables.
• Operate dishwashers and perform manual sanitization duties to maintain hygienic standards for dishes, glassware, and flatware.
• Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs continually to uphold customer satisfaction.
• Stock and replenish condiments and supplies at tables and service stations.
• Handle food packaging tasks such as portioning, wrapping, and packaging take-out orders accurately.
• Prepare simple food items by heating and finishing as required, and manage stocking of refrigerators and salad bars.
• Take customer orders and assist with food preparation using manual and electrical tools for cleaning, peeling, slicing, and trimming food.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen environment, including work surfaces, appliances, cupboards, and storage spaces, while safely handling and storing cleaning agents.
• Receive, unpack, and organize supplies properly in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other designated areas.
• Manage waste removal duties including kitchen garbage and general trash.
• Perform floor care duties such as sweeping, mopping, washing, and polishing.
• Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables efficiently.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Work occurs in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting requiring standing for long durations and engaging in repetitive physical tasks.
• Must be capable of moving heavy items up to 9 kilograms (20 pounds).
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality under pressure is crucial.
