Role Overview

The Financial Controller position is a full-time remote role charged with the supervision of essential finance and accounting functions within the startup. Daily responsibilities include managing the compilation and examination of financial statements, guaranteeing precise postings to the general ledger, and maintaining rigorous financial reporting procedures. The role also involves monitoring cash flows, aiding in budgeting and forecasting activities, and delivering analytical insights to leadership to support strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate interactions with external auditors and financial advisors.

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated expertise in accounting and finance to manage all core financial operations and ensure compliance.
• Proficient in preparing, reviewing, and communicating financial statements and reports.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial data, supporting predictive modeling, and guiding informed decision-making.
• Experienced in using financial software systems including ERP, accounting packages, and spreadsheet tools to enhance reporting efficiency and internal controls.
• Educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is advantageous.
• Prior experience within startups, fintech, or technology sectors with familiarity with GAAP/IFRS standards, internal controls, and audit processes is preferred.
• Excellent communication capabilities, keen attention to detail, and proven ability to operate autonomously in a remote work environment are essential.
