About the Role
CREGG is recruiting an enthusiastic Financial Accountant to join their client's Finance team located in Shannon, Co. Clare. This full-time contract position spans 9 to 12 months and features a hybrid working arrangement. The role involves partnering with the Head of Finance and broader finance team to manage financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and enhancing financial processes within a growing aviation finance company.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts including debtors, creditors, and payroll entries.
- Perform accurate monthly and quarterly reconciliations within reporting deadlines.
- Support monthly financial close processes across several statutory entities and analyze variances against budget and forecast.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting tasks, and crafting strategic financial plans.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and cash flow forecasts accompanied by detailed commentary.
- Help coordinate and plan year-end audit activities.
- Create financial dashboards and provide ad hoc reports and analytics as needed.
- Engage in process evaluations, optimize systems, and promote ongoing improvements.
- Coordinate with internal and external accounting service providers whenever required.
- Participate in audit processes and support the production of statutory accounts.
- Help prepare monthly reporting packs ensuring consistency across entities with comprehensive supporting documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Holds a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong analytical skills and capability to enhance financial processes and efficiencies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
- Experience with finance and budgeting software in expanding organisations.
- Prior exposure to the aviation industry or a keen interest in progressing a career in aviation finance is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
