Overview

This permanent full-time opportunity starting in Term 3, 2026 is based at Baldivis Secondary College, located 46km south of Perth. The college is a dynamic educational community committed to nurturing student success in learning, wellbeing, and personal development by providing an enriching school experience focused on knowledge, skills, and personal growth.

Role Summary

The Facilities Coordinator supports the Manager Corporate Services to ensure efficient operation, maintenance, and presentation of school facilities, grounds, and amenities. Key duties include overseeing cleaning and gardening services, coordinating staff and contractors, driving maintenance activities, and managing school assets to keep the environment safe, functional, and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily upkeep and maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, and amenities.
  • Supervise cleaning and gardening personnel and coordinate their work schedules.
  • Support asset management strategies to maximize facility longevity and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate school facility use by community groups and liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Ensure occupational health and safety compliance, implement corrective measures as needed.

Required Competencies and Skills

  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in supporting development and monitoring of school facilities management strategies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external parties, including contractors and service providers.
  • Sound understanding of occupational health and safety regulations related to facility operations.

Eligibility and Application Requirements

  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or valid visa holder with appropriate work rights.
  • Must obtain valid Working With Children Check prior to commencement.
  • Consent to national criminal history check and secure screening clearance from the Department of Education before starting.
  • Demonstrated team management, budget monitoring, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Applications must include CV (up to 3 pages) and a detailed 5-page statement addressing selection criteria.
