Land Reclamation and Civils Division

Role Summary

The Estimator will join the Pre-Construction team, playing an essential role in winning future projects by providing precise cost estimates and collaborating closely with operational teams. This role involves both competitive bids and negotiated contracts, with a focus on commercial insight and quality documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate accurate estimates, tenders, and budget forecasts using reliable data and past project information.
• Identify risks and opportunities throughout tender preparation and submission.
• Coordinate closely with the Business Unit, Pre-Construction Manager, and Bid Manager to ensure alignment with delivery methods.
• Develop pricing structures from first principles and handle queries from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare clear, consistent tender documents using specialized Casey estimating software.
• Partner with Pre-Construction and Delivery teams to secure both competitive and negotiated contracts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, design consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Keep assumptions registers updated and highlight commercial risks proactively.
• Lead tender presentations and manage all documentation during launches, settlements, and handover phases.
• Document adjudication outcomes and prepare comprehensive handover information for Delivery teams post-contract award.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and value engineering opportunities.
• Mentor junior estimators and provide constructive feedback.
• Stay informed on construction techniques, building regulations, and industry best practices.
• Accurately quantify materials and contribute to design development discussions.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary up to £80,000 per year, depending on experience.
