The Engineering teams at Qantas play a vital role in maintaining and safeguarding the fleet for both Qantas and customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Interns will be involved in real business projects that support these missions, gaining access to state-of-the-art aircraft, equipment, and resources. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant programs like Project Sunrise and improve fleet performance through teams such as Engines, Performance, and Fleet Management within Qantas Mainline or QantasLink services.

Internship Details

• This is a three-month paid internship based in either Brisbane or Sydney.
• Positions available include two spots in Brisbane and nine in Sydney.
• Interns are expected to work full time, five days per week.

Candidate Requirements

• Availability to start in late November 2026 and commit to the full three-month duration.
• A credit average or higher in studies.
• Currently enrolled in the penultimate year of study in one of the following fields: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, HTML5, iOS mobile development, or Matlab is highly favored depending on the project.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, coupled with lateral thinking abilities.
• High motivation, energy, and ambition.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with a team-oriented approach.
• Ability to engage and present ideas to various levels within the organization.
• Authentic passion for the airline and aviation industry.
• Must be a permanent resident or citizen of Australia or New Zealand at the time of application.

Additional Information

Candidates residing outside Brisbane or Sydney are welcome to apply but must be prepared to relocate at their own expense if selected.
