Employee Relations Specialist

About the Role

Gopuff is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to join the People & Culture team. This position involves managing all phases of complex employee relations issues, conducting detailed workplace investigations, and ensuring adherence to company policies and employment laws. You will work closely with business leaders, the HR team, and Legal to promote a fair and inclusive working environment. The role requires extensive travel, up to 90%, within major regional markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints and concerns including policy violations, working condition issues, disciplinary actions, employee grievances, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
• Provide recommendations on appropriate actions in collaboration with key stakeholders regarding employee relations matters.
• Document investigation outcomes and prepare summaries for record-keeping in ThinkLP.
• Advise management at all levels on employee relations topics such as performance management, corrective actions, policy interpretation, conflict resolution, and termination processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws; proactively identify and address emerging compliance risks in coordination with relevant parties.
• Lead and engage in regional community outreach, hiring, and onboarding efforts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Available to travel approximately 90% of the time to visit regional sites.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of HR experience, including at least one year focused on Employee Relations, investigations, and field operations support.
• Experience working with California-based operations and knowledge of California employment laws preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Professional proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
• Strong expertise in investigation techniques, including interviewing, evidence collection, and report writing.
• Solid grounding in US employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, EEO, and Title VII.
• Proven ability to coach employees and leadership through complex issues and develop effective resolutions.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work efficiently under pressure.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with high emotional intelligence and discretion.
• Strong analytical thinking and conflict resolution abilities.
• Proficient in computer applications, email, and Google Workspace.

• Base salary range: $65,000 to $95,000 annually, varying by location, experience, skills, and interview performance.
