Role Overview
The Emergency Communication Specialist II position involves overseeing the everyday functions of the Emergency Communications Center under the Department of Emergency Services or the Communications Unit within the Department of Public Safety. This role requires supervision and coordination to maintain optimal operations in handling emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily activities and workflow in the communications center.
- Train new team members and provide mentorship to staff.
- Schedule shifts and assign work tasks effectively.
- Offer technical support and expertise related to electronic communication equipment.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on emergency call response processes covering Westchester County.
- Conduct various administrative duties to ensure smooth and effective unit function.
- Manage event coordination and ensure appropriate response to all incoming emergency calls.
Required Expertise
- Comprehensive understanding of emergency procedures and practices.
- Proven experience in communications center operations and leadership.
