Job description

Position Overview

Join our pharmacy team as a Dispenser, playing a vital role in supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver safe and efficient pharmacy and healthcare services. Positioned within the healthcare department of our store, you will build strong connections with patients by understanding and addressing their needs. Your duties will range from welcoming customers, accurately dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the secure sale of medicines, to advising patients through your healthcare expertise to enable informed health decisions. This role requires working onsite in-store within the UK; applicants must confirm UK qualifications and right to work as remote or overseas applications without valid credentials will not be considered.

Main Duties

  • Manage prescription dispensing by safely ordering, labelling, endorsing, and collecting medicines according to protocols.
  • Collaborate with in-store healthcare professionals to support and deliver pharmacy services efficiently.
  • Offer knowledgeable care and guidance on medications, escalating pertinent queries to the Pharmacist.
  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures ensuring legal and safe dispensing practices.
  • Stay informed of innovations and changes in operational procedures to uphold safety and service quality.
  • Assist patients in managing their prescriptions effectively, supporting adherence and minimizing medicine waste.
  • Utilize new in-store technologies designed to enhance dispensing processes and increase patient interaction time.

Development and Training

You will receive consistent updates and training to expand your healthcare knowledge. Additionally, there are promising career growth paths including pharmacy technician training or advancement into store leadership roles.

Candidate Requirements

  • Completion of the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 qualification or equivalent, or be in progress with the first year of an MPharm degree.
  • Possess current and valid UK right to work status; sponsorship for Skilled Worker Visa is not provided.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in community pharmacy settings is advantageous.
