Job Summary
INSEAD is looking for a Director for Development (Asia) to join its Advancement Department at the Asia campus in Singapore. This permanent, full-time role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days on campus and two days remote working.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead INSEAD's major gifts fundraising strategy throughout the Asia region, focusing on revenue growth and donor engagement.
- Manage a personal portfolio of high-value prospects based in Asia and personally secure significant donations ranging from €50,000 to €1,000,000.
- Build and nurture a strong pipeline of prospects to ensure sustained and increased philanthropic support aligned with institutional goals.
- Identify and qualify future top prospects in Asia and devise customized solicitation plans reflecting donor interests and School priorities.
- Travel regularly within Asia for donor meetings to cultivate relationships and accelerate philanthropic outcomes.
- Supervise and develop the Asia fundraising team, including recruitment, mentoring, and performance management to optimize results.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and global colleagues to deliver an integrated fundraising approach and maintain high data quality within CRM systems.
- Serve as an ambassador for INSEAD by representing the institution at regional events and engagement activities.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced education or experience in philanthropy, non-profit leadership, or an MBA is advantageous.
- At least 10 years of direct fundraising or senior stakeholder relationship experience, preferably within education.
- Track record of successfully closing complex donations or deals of €50,000 or more.
- Expertise in managing portfolios, developing pipelines, and consistently achieving fundraising goals.
- Solid knowledge of the Asian fundraising landscape and experience engaging senior donors and board-level volunteers.
- Excellent storytelling and communication skills to effectively convey INSEAD’s mission and philanthropic goals.
- Ability to forge and sustain long-term trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Capable of managing complex gift transactions involving multiple parties such as faculty and senior leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in team and volunteer management, with a commitment to high performance and integrity.
- Strong written and verbal communication competencies combined with a passion for stakeholder engagement.
