Springbrook NY, Inc is seeking part-time Direct Support Professionals for the Norwich region. This role involves providing compassionate assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities across various settings including educational, residential, and community environments. With over 95 years of committed service, Springbrook offers a meaningful opportunity to enhance the lives of those served while gaining valuable experience. New employees qualify for a $1,500 sign-on bonus. Compensation ranges between $20.00 and $22.00 per hour, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Job Experience and Daily Activities

The position entails supporting activities of daily living, including personal care, encouraging independence while ensuring safety. Tasks may include accompanying individuals to community outings such as shopping, recreational activities like basketball, cooking, and attending amusement parks. The working schedule offers full-time and part-time roles with days, evenings, overnights, and weekend shifts available. Flexibility and readiness for reassignment to other locations as business demands are part of the role.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with individuals having developmental disabilities is advantageous.
• Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including mandatory overtime and night shifts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; willingness to learn additional applications.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and assist with heavier loads.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements for Springbrook vehicles.
• Capacity to perform all necessary physical interventions.
