Due to ongoing growth, DataVolt is hiring Data Centre Technicians to contribute to several mission-critical data centre initiatives across Saudi Arabia. The role suits experienced professionals with backgrounds in electrical, medium voltage, HVAC, mechanical cooling, controls or BMS who are committed to high operational standards in critical environments.
Key responsibilities
The technician will be responsible for keeping essential data centre infrastructure running reliably and safely, with a strong focus on uptime, fault response and maintenance discipline.
- Run, observe and service critical data centre systems to support continuous availability and dependable performance.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across electrical, HVAC, cooling, BMS, controls and medium-voltage systems based on the candidate’s technical background.
- Track plant performance using BMS, DCIM and other monitoring tools, and act promptly on alarms or operational anomalies.
- Carry out routine site checks, readings and facility inspections during operational rounds.
- Identify faults, isolate issues and help bring critical equipment back into service safely.
- Assist with emergency procedures, shutdowns, restarts and recovery actions in line with approved operating instructions.
- Follow Permit to Work, Lock Out Tag Out and health and safety requirements without exception.
- Keep maintenance logs, shift handover notes and CMMS records accurate and up to date.
- Coordinate with engineers, suppliers and contractors during maintenance windows and project activities.
- Support commissioning, testing and readiness tasks for newly delivered data centre assets.
- Work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends and on-call duties where needed for mission-critical operations.
Experience and qualifications
Applicants should bring hands-on experience in critical facilities and the technical foundation to work in a demanding data centre environment.
- At least 3 years of experience in mission-critical settings such as data centres, power generation, utilities, oil and gas, telecommunications, hospitals or similar facilities.
- A technical qualification, diploma or trade certificate in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Building Management Systems, Controls, Medium Voltage or a related field.
- Practical experience with critical infrastructure such as UPS units, generators, switchgear, medium-voltage systems, CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, cooling plants, BMS or DCIM platforms.
- Solid knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and safe isolation methods.
- Experience using CMMS platforms and maintaining clear, accurate maintenance documentation.
- Working knowledge of PTW, LOTO and health and safety practices in industrial or critical environments.
- Ability to perform in a rotating 24/7 shift pattern and respond to emergency call-outs when required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Prior data centre experience is preferred, though strong experience in other critical facilities will also be considered.
- Useful certifications include CDCTP, First Aid, HSE, LOTO or OEM-specific training.
Work schedule
This is a full-time, onsite position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role operates on a 24/7 rotating shift basis and may include night duty, weekends and on-call support.
