About the Role
A prominent participant in the Australian energy sector is looking to add a skilled Data Analyst to their expanding team based in Sydney. You will collaborate closely with the energy market division to establish and maintain robust data infrastructures that support market insights, forecasting, reporting, and strategic commercial decision-making throughout the National Electricity Market (NEM).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and sustain data pipelines utilizing AEMO and related market data.
- Automate workflows for data acquisition, processing, and reporting to enhance efficiency.
- Provide data solutions to assist in market analysis, forecasting, and trading activities.
- Develop and refine cloud-based platforms and analytical tools.
- Work in partnership with trading, commercial, and analytics teams to generate actionable data insights.
- Enhance data quality, reliability, and the overall data engineering standards organization-wide.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Data Engineering or Data Analytics within the energy industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electricity Market and familiarity with AEMO datasets, particularly Dispatch and Settlements.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with Azure or other cloud platforms, including ETL/ELT processes and data orchestration technologies.
- Mandatory background in energy markets or renewables sector.
