Role Summary
We seek a seasoned Data & AI Solution Architect to join our Middle East & Africa ICT division, reporting to the Head of Data & AI. This senior leadership position entails setting the technological blueprint, enterprise architecture, and overseeing technical governance for Data, Analytics, AI, and Generative AI initiatives throughout the region.
The role requires a blend of deep technical knowledge and strategic stakeholder engagement to design and implement scalable, secure, and business-aligned solutions while managing both internal teams and external partners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Define and drive the regional Data & AI technology strategy, including architecture principles and roadmap, consistent with global frameworks.
- Oversee comprehensive architecture for strategic Data & AI projects across MEA.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions that are scalable, secure, and reusable.
- Establish standards, reference architectures, and best practice models.
- Lead architecture for various platforms: Enterprise Data Platforms; ETL/ELT & streaming; Cloud Data Platforms; Business Intelligence & advanced analytics; AI, ML, Generative AI, RAG, Vector databases, and prompt orchestration; APIs & microservices; data governance, metadata, and data quality.
- Manage architectural reviews and technical governance during project delivery to ensure quality, security, scalability, resilience, compliance, and operational readiness.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks; support prioritization of initiatives based on value and feasibility.
- Serve as senior escalation point for complex technical challenges.
- Collaborate with business leaders, product teams, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams; advise on technology decisions and delivery strategies.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders.
- Support business case development and ensure value realization.
- Enhance regional Data & AI operating models, governance, and delivery standards promoting Agile, DevOps, DataOps, MLOps, documentation, release management, and architectural compliance.
- Lead both internal teams and external technology vendors to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions embedding responsible AI practices, identity management, auditability, and secure data sharing.
- Ensure all solutions meet cybersecurity, privacy, governance, and regulatory standards.
- Travel as necessary to Kenitra, Casablanca, and potentially France or Italy.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Engineering or similar disciplines.
- Over 12 years of experience in enterprise architecture, data engineering, AI/ML, analytics, or technology leadership roles.
- Demonstrated ability designing and implementing enterprise-level Data & AI solutions.
- Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures and modern data platforms.
- Experience collaborating across business, IT, cybersecurity, governance, and vendor partnerships in multinational environments.
- Working experience in regional or global organizations is preferred.
- Professional proficiency in English is mandatory; French language skills are an asset.
- Relevant certifications in cloud, enterprise architecture, AI/ML, data engineering, or security are advantageous.
