Customer Delivery Driver - Lee Mill

Role Overview

As a Customer Delivery Driver at Tesco in Lee Mill, you will represent Tesco on the road by delivering groceries to customers' homes. This role extends beyond simply driving; it involves providing excellent service, engaging positively with customers, and managing physical tasks. It offers variety, with no two shifts alike, and requires independent work along with backing from a supportive team at our base.

Working Hours

• Sunday: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Monday: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Tuesday: 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM
• Friday: 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, delivery trays, and workspace ensuring every order arrives in perfect condition.
• Load the delivery van safely and conduct all necessary checks to guarantee it is roadworthy and prepared for daily operations.
• Communicate courteously with customers regarding any order modifications, substitutions, or short-dated items, offering refunds when appropriate to ensure a smooth customer experience.
• Handle products carefully, treating every order with the utmost care to preserve quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders punctually within scheduled time slots while offering warm and friendly service at the customer's doorstep.

Candidate Requirements

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues to foster a positive team environment and enhance customer service quality.
• Exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor towards both customers and coworkers.
• Adapt quickly to changing customer needs and embrace flexibility while working on the road and at the store.
• Hold a valid UK, EU, or EEA full or automatic driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
